A fatal shooting near the anti-government protest site in Bangkok reinforces the risk to travellers from incidental violence in Bangkok.
On 15 April, a security guard for the anti-government protestors was shot by an assailant near Lumphini Park. This incident highlights the ongoing and significant risk that travellers to Bangkok face from incident injury.
The anti-government protests continue in Bangkok with an estimated 5000 protestors camped in the city park.
Travel to Thailand can and should continue, however it is strongly advised that travellers have their itineraries assessed to ensure they do not expose themselves to the risk of incidental injury or death.
